The 'IT project of the Year 2010' Award!

Dear ICT Manager,

The IT Project of the Year Award 2010 has been won by Heineken Netherlands. The brewer’s IT and marketing departments cooperated closely to develop the portal Heineken.nl, an anchor point for consumers who like to go out often. Heineken.nl offers event calendars for music and sports, an online shop, a ‘pubseeker’ and gives lots of tips about interesting places to go. As part of the project a branded credit card with rfid-functionality has been developed, facilitating participation in loyalty programs and providing fast entrance to events. It is remarkable that the IT department had final responsibility for this brand enhancement program, with which the department has strenghtened its internal position considerably. “Heineken’s IT department has taken the lead in this project and shown a ‘can do’-mentality”, said professor Hans Borgman, chairman of the Award Jury, “And by having done so will inspire other IT departments.”

The IT Project of the Year Award 2010 process entails the following steps





  1. April 9th 2010, deadline for returning the questionnaire.
  2. April 12th 2010, the jury will creat a short list consisting of the top 5 nominees.
  3. April 26th 2010, the candidates on the short list will be invited for interviews with the jury in the Bossche Boardroom in 's-Hertogenbosch. The jury will select the top 3 nominees.
  4. All selected parties on our short list are automatically invited to attend our IT Transformation Conference in De Leeuwenhorst in Noordwijkerhout (NL), on May 18th 2010. The top 3 nominees are expected to be present during the award ceremony and will have the opportunity to present their projects in a short elevator pitch on stage.
  5. Following the pitches, the IT Project of the Year Award 2010 will be presented right there on stage in a short, but festive ceremony.

IT Project of the Year 2010: Case Elevator Pitches:
The jury interviewed the five final nominees. Three nominated cases will have to take the stage. They will convince the attendees of the business value of their project within 180 seconds.

A short list of selected projects will be published in TITM after consultation with the involved organizations.
As the winner of the Award you will get ample exposure in the conference report in TITM (Tijdschrift IT Management) and CIO Magazine, as well as in a separate feature article: an interview in TITM with you, your business colleague and your IT team! You and/or your team will even be on the cover of Tijdschrift IT Management, June edition.
A press release will also be distributed, featuring your IT organization as the winner of this year's Award.
