After 5 years of hosting the CIO Day, after re-introducing Outsource Magazine and presenting the prestigious awards CIO of the Year, TIMMIES and the IT project of the Year, we finally feel comfortable to present the ‘TOMMIES'.
The TOMMIES stand for the TOM Awards by Outsource Magazine. As will be introduced during the first edition of the Annual Conference Strategic Sourcing, TOM, The Outsourcing Manager, will roam the streets for great sourcing projects & people with drive and guts.
MISSION STATEMENT
TOMMIES: aim high to gain business success and bring sourcing and the sourcing business to a higher level!
The sourcing industry needs change, transformation and innovation. From cowboys, to indians to chiefs! Because of today's economic pressures on sourcing leaders, sourcing projects and even mindset, the drive to innovate is weakening by the minute. Discussions in the boardroom are all about capex/opex, risk and costs savings. But the world is changing rapidly, so the real risk is that innovation will come to a halt just because of lack of vision, drive and willingness of visionary people to accelerate beyond what is required and requested from ‘stakeholders' point of view.
Strategic sourcing is at its crossroads. Many organizations are re-evaluating their sourcing contracts. Enterprise and government are ready for a change, a move to get more value out of sourcing relationships. For IT executives this means they have to become business partners and at the same time challenge their vendors and business counterparts: in the end it's not really about cost savings - it's all about business value!
Not afraid to explore, to make mistakes, do things differently, to motivate and even to develop innovative talents for the future and leadership for today, Outsource Magazine introduces the TOMMIES. To go further where others stop and to add fun to the workflow. TOMMIES make your aim higher: to gain business success and demonstrate the power of strategic sourcing!
